Let’s save the planet with Upcycling

Making new objects with waste materials destined to be garbage. Objects that find a new life and that acquire a more precious value than the material from which they were created. This is upcycling, literally translated as creative recycling or “improved” reuse. It’s an original way to save the planet using your imagination and maybe to make some money.

Upcycling is not just recycling but the creation and enhancement of the product made. It creates environmental sustainability, because it drastically reduces the consumption of raw materials and energy. It lowers pollution levels, making us and the environment around us healthier.
Today, upcycling is found in the field of fashion, design, construction, even toys. Especially in the world of fashion, where the textile industries are among the most polluting on the planet, the reuse of fabrics and the transformation of products is a winning choice. For example, the Diesel brand promotes a project for the creation of new collections: every six months, collections made with unsold clothes and accessories from previous collections are launched.
Upcycling in fashion (but not only) is also using improbable objects or materials to create objects that are completely different from those used. Plastic bottles can create wearable T-shirts, while wooden pallets can become benches or tables that decorate rooms or gardens. For stylists and designers, everything can become a source of inspiration.

When recycling arrives at school
Creative recycling, even in schools, is an opportunity to grow, learn recycling techniques, stimulate curiosity and creativity and protect the environment.
The school has the task of promoting projects that stimulate children’s manual skills, imagination and that transmit love and respect for our land. For this reason, there are many schools that offer creative recycling workshops during curricular or extracurricular hours. Each child, during this type of activity, is able to express themselves using what they find in front of their eyes and in their hands. By creating, recycling and having fun, you learn the rules to save the environment.
