The first literary pharmacy in Calabria was started in Lamezia

Not so long ago, the word pharmacy was associated exclusively with the sale of medicines. Today this is no longer the case. Over the years, pharmacies have become a centre of health, well-being and beauty. No longer just places to dispense drugs and advice on their use. It is a place where healthy lifestyles are promoted and services are offered, as well as prescriptions for the care of the body and soul, as is the case at the first literary pharmacy in Calabria, where books for psychophysical well-being are dispensed.

The project was started at a meeting between Tiziana Gallo, a teacher who returned to Calabria after having spent twenty years away, and the psychotherapist Raffaella Ruberto who is the owner of a parapharmacy in Via Marconi, Lamezia Terme. Theirs was a meeting of souls, passion, skills with only one desire: to convey well-being and knowledge to the customers of the pharmacy that has the name “Paper pills”, a name freely inspired by the first similar pharmacy, which was started in Florence in 2019 . “This is how this place was started in this place – the first in Calabria – where poetry and tachipirina are happily together, each accompanied by its own ” leaflet “, that are suitable for children and adults” explained Professor Gallo during the inauguration.

A book represents a potential cure like a drug, especially if it is accompanied by drug therapy. It is a cure for the ills of the soul. Like a drug, each book will contain its leaflet containing therapeutic indications, dosages and side effects.

The hope is to create, thanks to projects like these, a place also for meetings and exchanges as well as new lifeblood to regions like Calabria.
